Partial Hospitalization Program for mental Health

What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A Partial Hospitalization Program or PHP for mental health is the most intensive form of outpatient treatment available. The easiest way to think of it is a full day (6 hours) of treatment, 5 days a week— except clients can live at home rather than sleeping overnight at a medical facility.

PHP mental health options in Los Angeles have grown in popularity in recent years. The biggest reason why may be that they offer a great balance of intensive treatment for depression, anxiety, and other conditions while allowing them the comforts of home.

Some clients in PHP treatment may opt to stay in a supportive living environment away from home during their care. The beauty of the partial hospitalization program model is that it gives you the freedom to make these decisions yourself.

Is a Mental Health PHP Right For Me?

This is one of the questions we’re most often asked. How do you know if PHP treatment is the right response for your mental health disorder? The easiest way to find out is often to begin with a free assessment which can be done over the phone.

The initial assessment does not obligate you to anything, it’s just to answer your questions and help you make an informed decision.

Who is a good candidate for PHP mental health treatment?
  • Anyone who wants to overcome mental health obstacles and heal from trauma.
  • A person who has tried outpatient and isn’t making enough progress.
  • Someone who does not require 24-hour clinical supervision.
  • A person who isn’t a danger to themselves or others.

Neuropsychological evaluation helps our clients reach their mental health and life goals by giving them a clear-eyed perspective on the challenges before them. They also help us provide more effective mental health care to help the people we treat reach those goals.

What Is Medication Management?

Medication management is a therapeutic strategy that involves the accurate prescription, administration, and supervision of medication. This process helps to ensure that our clients are receiving optimal therapeutic outcomes for their prescribed medications. It also includes educating the clients about their medication, monitoring its efficacy, and ensuring medications are used according to prescription.

In an outpatient mental health treatment program, medication management can be critical. It’s a collaborative process involving the person we are treating, a therapist, and often a pharmacologist. We work together to decide on the most suitable medication regime, considering their unique health situation, potential side effects, and any other medications they may be taking.
